About The Position

This is a bargaining union position, represented by Local 773, International Brotherhood of Teamsters. The role involves testing products for quality, troubleshooting and resolving technical problems from the product line/process to minimize reject levels, and setting up and operating production equipment according to manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures. The technician is also responsible for maintaining the plant’s manufacturing equipment in satisfactory condition, including cleaning and sanitizing, maintaining conveyor belts, hooking up and loading raw material delivery tankers, and cleaning work areas, all in accordance with company GMP policies and procedures. Other duties include moving raw materials and finished products within the warehouse or other production facilities using forklifts, inspecting facilities for adherence to safety and operating policies and GMP, implementing and maintaining the Coca-Cola Quality System, calculating production yields and scrap quantities, communicating with peers to solve problems, identifying non-compliant activities, and ensuring proper documentation and retention of statistics.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience
  • Available to work overtime and/or flexible shift hours when required
  • Have good attendance and punctuality
  • Being in work area at scheduled shift start time
  • Takes initiative and has accountability for the quality and effectiveness of own work
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Have working knowledge of production and warehousing
  • Able to safely operate a forklift
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting and pushing /pulling (up to 55 lbs.)
  • Demonstrated commitment to development of skills
  • Works well in a team environment, across functional boundaries
  • Able to identify equipment and operational problems
  • Perform basic trouble shooting tasks

Responsibilities

  • Test products for quality
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems from the product line/process to minimize reject levels
  • Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures
  • Maintain the plant’s manufacturing equipment in satisfactory condition (e.g., clean and sanitize tanks and pipe routings, maintain conveyor belts, hook up and load raw material delivery tankers, clean work areas) according to company GMP policies and procedures
  • Move raw materials and finished product (e.g., syrup, concentrate, parts, point-of-sale) within the warehouse or other production facilities using forklifts or other warehouse equipment
  • Inspect facility (e.g., production, warehouse, service/installation) to assure adherence to safety and operating policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Implement, evaluate, and maintain effective application of the Coca-Cola Quality System
  • Calculate production yields and scrap quantities to accurately record material usage variances
  • Communicate with peers and others to exchange feedback on products/service issues, identify and/or solve problems, assess needs and or/achieve business results
  • Identify activities not in accordance with company policies and procedures and inform appropriate parties
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and retention of statistics in relation to execution against policies, procedures and standards
