About The Position

This position is responsible for leading and monitoring a group of assigned team members to achieve goals that contribute to the growth of the organization. The Production Team Leader directs the day-to-day production activities of the team, conducts training, and empowers the team to meet daily production goals and overall efficiency. They will perform production work when manning is low or builds are under efficiency, troubleshoot basic mechanical issues, and learn to operate all cells/presses/mobile equipment in their designated area. The role also involves inspecting parts for defects, promoting Kaizen activities, creating and implementing countermeasures, and providing direction and guidance to team members. The Production Team Leader must be able to rotate into all team leader positions within the facility, understand team members' strengths and weaknesses for coaching and progressive discipline, and report out to FMDS boards on current conditions. Key responsibilities include organizing tasks, setting goals, upholding company and department vision, maintaining working relationships with support groups, solving problems, resolving conflicts, and implementing/maintaining applicable management systems. Additionally, the role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local environmental requirements, identifies and provides control plans for compliance obligations, and ensures workplace safety by assigning safety training, providing procedures and equipment, identifying hazards, investigating incidents, and discussing safety in regular meetings and performance reviews. The Production Team Leader must follow, lead, and comply with ISO 14001 regulations and IATF compliance(s). Other job duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Willingness to learn to operate all cells/presses/mobile equipment in designated area
  • Inspect parts for defects and elevates to Quality for assistance, if necessary
  • Promotes Kaizen activities to improve processes and procedures
  • Creates and implements countermeasures for abnormalities or defects
  • Provides direction and guidance for all team members
  • Must be able to be rotated in all team leader positions within the facility
  • Understands the Strengths and Weakness of Team Members and be able to coach and lead progressive discipline
  • Must be able to speak to, and report out to FMDS boards and current conditions within their designated areas

  • Look into causes and follow ups of incidents and take action to prevent similar incidents and discuss safety in regular meetings and performance reviews.
  • Follow, Lead and Comply with ISO 14001 regulations and IATF compliance(s).
