About The Position

This role is responsible for preparing and executing training for all team members on the night shift. The Lead Production member must be able to manage 6+ employees, report daily shift reports, and conduct daily shift production meetings. This individual will assist during production to ensure team members are working safely, meeting goals, and are cross-trained weekly. A positive attitude, willingness to help others, and maintaining a clean work environment are essential. The role involves troubleshooting in all areas of the production lines, verifying product quality (A grade), and ensuring the correct product is being produced during shift and order changes. The Lead Production member will also fill in for the supervisor when needed, perform all jobs within the department, and properly start up and shut down the lines, training team members accordingly. Additionally, this role involves identifying and addressing off-quality issues, training associates on fixes, ensuring adherence to PPE and safety guidelines, and operating a lift truck. Technical assistance on product features, competitive analysis, and specifications will be provided. The role may require working different shifts for training purposes and working in different departments to gain experience. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years hands-on Maintenance experience.
  • 2 years of training experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Effective problem-solving and Troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to train, cross train, and perform additional duties as needed.
  • Experience in LVT/LVP or SPC products.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5-S.
  • Previous Extrusion Operator or Profile experience is required.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to communicate in standard English to understand and follow verbal or written instructions and to keep simple records and make reports.
  • Ability to maintain an acceptable level of attendance in accordance with company and department guidelines.
  • Ability to work in an environment that is noisy.
  • Ability to perform specific duties with instructions but without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to walk long distances, climb on ladders, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be okay with overtime.
  • Must be okay with working with a team.
  • Must be Mechanically inclined.
  • Must have trouble shooting skills.

  • Must be certified to drive a lift truck.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute training for all team members on shift.

  • Perform hour checks throughout the lines to verify product is A grade.
  • Verify every shift & order change that the correct product is being produced.
  • Fill in for supervisor when needed.

  • Startup and shut down the lines properly and train Team members accordingly.
  • Look for off quality issues and train associates on how to correctly fix the issues.
  • Make sure all team members follow PPE & Safety Guidelines.
  • Be certified to drive a lift truck.
  • Use handheld hoist control properly and train associates on correct procedure.
  • Provide Technical assistance on product features, competitive analysis, specifications.
  • Check that you are running the correct product and be able to notify management if recipe needs to be changed, and train associates on correct procedure.
  • May be asked to work different shifts to help train.
  • Will work in different departments to learn.
