About The Position

The Production Lead oversees and directs an assigned team to ensure production requirements are met. The role acts as an intermediary between supervisors and employees, ensuring associates perform assigned duties and providing positive guidance throughout production processes. The position is for the third shift, 10:45 p.m. to 6:45 a.m., with a 7.5% shift premium. The role combines hands-on assistance to production associates with leadership in continuous improvement, training, quality inspections, documentation, and adherence to safety, conduct, and housekeeping requirements. Work is primarily in a manufacturing and production-floor environment, with production-floor presence required for at least 50% of daily work time.

Requirements

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in a production-oriented environment.
Valid Michigan driver's license.
Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.
Demonstrated organizational, communication, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily production and assist associates as needed, using a hands-on approach and providing positive guidance.
Lead continuous improvement efforts and ensure new associates are trained in job procedures, quality, and health and safety.
Set up and tear down new processes.
Audit products received, in process, or finished against established quality requirements and document results on appropriate check sheets.
Perform and document first-off inspections, in-process inspections at the required criteria and frequency, and final inspections according to the applicable guidelines and check sheets.
Ensure quality records are completed legibly and filed or routed to the appropriate location.
Ensure nonconforming products are handled according to the Nonconforming Material Procedure.
Ensure associates follow rules and codes of conduct, including incident and accident reporting, documentation, and proper care.
Ensure housekeeping practices are followed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
