About The Position

The Production Support Lead Engineer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within their field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in their job and the business. This role is recognized as a technical authority within an area of the business and requires basic commercial awareness. Typically, there are multiple individuals within the business who possess the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are essential for guiding, influencing, and convincing others, particularly colleagues in other departments and occasional external customers. This role has a significant impact on its area through complex deliverables and provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. The work impacts an entire area, which ultimately affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years experience in Production Support
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL (Able to build ad hoc SQL queries)
  • Working knowledge of UNIX (Linux) and Windows (Able to navigate the system and know the core administration functions)
  • Strong analytical skills & attention to detail
  • IT (spreadsheet/analytical/modeling skills)
  • Positive attitude and keen to learn
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under stress and time constraints

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Business knowledge/ understanding of financial markets and products
  • Experience with Messaging Technologies (TIBCO, SWIFT, MQ, Kafka a plus)
  • Experience with real-time monitoring systems such as ITRS Geneos and Appdynamics
  • Job scheduling tool such as AutoSys
  • Issue tracking and reporting using tools such as JIRA or other ticket tracking system
  • Knowledge/ experience of problem Management Tools
  • Good all-round PC skills (I.e. Windows OS / Networks / General Hardware)
  • Programming/Scripting skills in any language

Responsibilities

  • Partner with multiple technology teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals.
  • Identify and define necessary system enhancements.
  • Analyze existing system logic, identify problems, and recommend and implement solutions.
  • Provide expertise in the area and an advanced understanding of the principles of application support.
  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex, high-impact application enhancements and problem resolution through in-depth analysis and evaluation of complex business processes, systems, and industry standards; document requirements.
  • Partner with multiple technology areas and management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Systems Analysts to determine and document systems impacts and support requirements.
  • Consider the implications of the application of technology to the current environment.
  • Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues; communicate impact; and propose risk mitigation options.
  • Act as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts; allocate work.
  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Directly impact the business by influencing strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel, or provided services.
  • Persuade and influence others through strong and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills.
  • Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
