The Production Floor Supervisor is responsible for assisting in, leading, and assessing the performance of any floor employee to ensure 100% utilization of equipment/production time and to address employee issues during operating hours. The Supervisor is also responsible for the operation, throughput, and quality of all product/equipment during their shift, and must ensure all company policies and guidelines are followed and enforced during plant operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years of progressive leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write routine and non-routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to managers, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Advanced skills with computer and peripheral equipment.
  • Advanced ability to use database, word processing, spreadsheet, graphing and other software as specific to the department.
  • Operates copy machine, fax machine, scanner, telephone, voice mail, and FedEx Powership.
  • Exercises above-average verbal and written communication skills, is highly organized, and pays great attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and maintain a high degree of responsibility and confidentiality at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels by working with Manufacturing Manager and HR regarding needs.
  • Conduct interviews with applicants.
  • Assisting, direct, instruct, train assist and evaluate production employees.
  • Manage all employees development and performance evaluations.
  • Drive associate engagement of your direct reports.
  • Planning layout and regulate resources to meet production schedules.
  • Ensure maintenance of equipment.
  • Promote quality and safety in work area.
  • Maintain various production and operator records and documentation.
  • Works assigned shift and maintains flexible schedule to meet production needs.
  • Performs other duties when required that are outside of normal job duties.
  • May be asked to assist in other duties to ensure production needs are met in a timely manner.
