About The Position

National Vision is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for its optical manufacturing facility in Plano, Texas. The supervisor oversees daily production department functions, including achieving production goals, hiring and developing staff, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for associates. The position operates on a three-day night-shift schedule: Shift 2A works Sunday through Tuesday, and Shift 2B works Wednesday through Friday; both shifts run from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

Requirements

Three to five years of directly related experience.
Prior supervisory experience.
Beginner to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Ability to read and write English.

Responsibilities

Manage Jobs per Hour in production departments.
Supervise assigned department activities, ensuring workflow and appropriate utilization of associates.
Ensure older jobs are processed in a timely manner.
Resolve breakage issues and keep breakages low.
Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues promptly and minimize production disruptions.
Process and review daily reports.
Manage lens and frame inventory as required.
Help ensure steady workflow across lab departments and work with other department supervisors and the production manager to resolve interdepartmental issues.
Train lead associates, oversee associate training, and cross-train associates to work effectively at multiple department stations.
Interview and select associates, review performance, address issues, monitor attendance, and schedule work and vacation time.
Implement standard operating procedures, department policies, and procedures, and enforce company policies and procedures.
