About The Position

Hubbell’s Connector Business Unit in Olive Branch, Mississippi, is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee first-shift production processes and supervise hourly employees. The role focuses on continuous improvement, increasing productivity and efficiency, and minimizing costs. The supervisor is the direct supervisor for machinists and machine operators in the assigned area and oversees daily work, training, employee development, safety, quality, and environmental, health, and safety compliance in the machine shop and assembly areas.

Requirements

Two years of experience operating and/or programming CNC mills and lathes.
General computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office tools.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Basic understanding of blueprints, calipers, and typical machine shop procedures, processes, and tools.

Responsibilities

Directly supervise machinists and machine operators in the assigned area.
Assign daily tasks and activities for the machine shop.
Ensure direct reports are trained and up to date on required processes and tasks.
Maintain the cross-training matrix for direct reports and address gaps in training thresholds.
Manage the talent and development of direct reports, including setting performance objectives and conducting performance reviews.
Promote a safety-first culture and work toward zero safety incidents.
Work toward zero quality issues in the assigned area.
Actively manage environmental, health, and safety compliance and risk in assembly areas.
Identify and participate in continuous improvement activities in the machine shop.
Pursue productivity increases, improved efficiency, and cost minimization.
