About The Position

Homestead Village, a non-profit, CARF-CCAC-accredited Life Plan Community just outside downtown Lancaster, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support residents’ independence and dignity. The position is located at The Apostle Center for Care, a 56-bed skilled nursing facility. This is a full-time position scheduled from 4:45 p.m. to 5:15 a.m., two days per week and every other weekend and holiday. Base pay is determined by years licensed and experience; newly licensed CNAs start at $17.50. Applicable differentials include $1.50 from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., $0.75 from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and $1.25 on Saturdays and Sundays. Benefits begin on the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Homestead Village accepts EEOC exemption requests.

Responsibilities

Maintain an organized, neat, safe, secure, and comfortable environment for each resident.
Use Point of Care and residents’ care plans to provide care.
Follow instructions from Licensed Nursing Staff and the Household Coordinator, and perform duties according to Homestead Village routines, methods, techniques, policies, procedures, standards, and practices.
Work independently or as part of a team to provide total care or assist residents with bathing and hygiene.
Assist with ambulation, transfers, and positioning using prescribed assistive or therapeutic devices, as directed by the resident care plan.
Respond promptly to call bells, regardless of assignment.
Collect and record daily data such as temperatures, pulses, respirations, and blood pressures.
Record care provided during the shift, including activities of daily living and ambulation.
Assist residents with dining needs, including in the country kitchen; track intake and output as requested; and weigh residents as instructed.
Observe residents and immediately report physical or behavioral changes to the charge nurse.
Interact tactfully, respectfully, and cooperatively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
Provide assigned resident care in accordance with nursing department policies and procedures.
Participate in resident activities as directed.
Wash residents’ personal laundry as needed.
Perform cleaning and other duties as assigned.
