Medical Delivery Driver Full-Time M-F 5:15AM - 1:45PM
About The Position
MedSpeed is hiring a full-time Medical Driver in Mountain View, California. The role transports medical supplies and materials for healthcare organizations using a company-owned vehicle. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:15 AM to 1:45 PM, and the listed pay range is $22.50–$24.45 per hour. Training is provided through MedSpeed’s Blue Shirt Certified program. Route assignments and duties may vary with client and business needs, and drivers must be able to perform duties across assigned routes. The driver safely transports lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials. The role also involves tracking items with a handheld scanning device, following operating procedures and service schedules, interacting professionally with clients and the public, loading and unloading vehicles, and completing vehicle inspections. Drivers are expected to keep the vehicle clean and orderly and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for 3 years.
- Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
- Familiarity working with and adapting to technology.
- Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
- Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
- Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
- Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent driving history.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination depending on location and local mandates.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands, lift items off storage racks, walk long distances, and stand for long periods.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
- Use a handheld scanning device to track items through the transportation cycle.
- Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
- Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interactions.
- Load and unload company vehicles with appropriate equipment.
- Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly vehicle.
- Perform duties across assigned routes as needed; route assignments may change based on client and business needs.
- Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
- Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
