About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a full-time Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Columbus, Ohio, at $17.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Wednesday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., and Thursday through Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Most of the workday is spent driving a company-owned vehicle to transport medical supplies and materials, including lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, and interoffice mail. Drivers use a handheld scanning device to track transported items and follow established operating policies, procedures, and service schedules. Duties and route assignments may vary according to client and business needs, and drivers must be able to perform duties across assigned routes.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver's license for at least 3 years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
• Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent driving history.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, depending on location and local mandates.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including lifting items off storage racks.
• Comfort walking long distances and standing for long periods.
• Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands despite changes in pickup, drop-off, and route assignments.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
• Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items throughout the transportation cycle.
• Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Maintain a professional appearance and interact professionally with clients and the public.
• Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
• Drive safely and courteously.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
• Perform duties across assigned routes, adapting to route changes and varying client and business needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
• Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
