About The Position

MedSpeed is a healthcare logistics company that partners with organizations nationwide to transport medical supplies and specimens. The Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver transports lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials in a company-owned vehicle. The role uses a handheld scanning device to track items, follows operating procedures and service schedules, and represents MedSpeed professionally to clients and the public. Route duties and assignments may vary according to client and business needs, and the driver must be able to perform duties across assigned routes.

This full-time position is based in Columbus, Ohio, and pays $17.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Wednesday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., and Thursday through Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. MedSpeed provides training and a company vehicle.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• At least 19 years of age and an active driver’s license held for at least 3 years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity working with and adapting to technology.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routes between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
• Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent driving history.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, lift items off storage racks, and handle varying item weights and physical demands.
• Comfort with walking long distances and standing for long periods.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required depending on location and local mandates.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
• Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle.
• Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Present a professional image through appearance and interactions with clients and the public.
• Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
• Perform duties across assigned routes, which may change based on client and business needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
• Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
