About The Position

Lactalis US Yogurt is hiring a Production Supervisor in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role directs departmental activities across production, maintenance, and quality control to produce products efficiently and safely in accordance with established policies and processes. The Production Supervisor advises and assists the Production Manager as a member of the team and may assume the Production Manager’s responsibilities in their absence. The role provides leadership and support to production employees, helps meet production schedules and business objectives, and coordinates with other supervisors and functions to optimize operations and resources. The position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and on-call work as required.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience leading, mentoring, and/or delegating work to others in a manufacturing facility.
At least 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Ability to lead, coach, influence, motivate, develop, engage, and retain a large team of hourly associates.
Strong communication, time management, and leadership skills.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Strong accountability, consistency, and follow-through skills.
Ability to work effectively with plant personnel ranging from hourly employees to senior management.
Proficient computer knowledge and familiarity with, or ability to learn, SAP or other manufacturing systems.
Ability to work various shifts with flexible hours, including weekends and on-call work as required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to adapt to a changing work environment.

Nice To Haves

A BA/BS degree in Business, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience in dairy or cheese manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Implement and enforce safety programs and safe work practices through participation in plant safety teams, programs, and initiatives.
Partner with the Production Manager and other site leaders to meet productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, quality, safety, and employee engagement objectives.
Meet production schedules to achieve business goals.
Ensure production yields and efficiencies meet budgetary and corporate standards.
Provide direction, leadership, development, and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Communicate and coordinate proactively with other supervisors and functions to optimize operations and resources.
Build strong working relationships and foster positive collaboration within the team and across functions.
Train and develop team members through mentoring and coaching.
Partner with the Production Manager and HR on employee and labor relations issues.
Partner with the Production Manager and maintenance team to coordinate repair work.
Assist the Production Manager as a team member and assume their responsibilities in their absence.
