Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift
About The Position
Peli BioThermal is hiring a Production Supervisor for its third-shift manufacturing team in Maple Grove, Minnesota. The supervisor leads overnight production to ensure goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and on time. The role develops Team Leads and production associates, improves manufacturing processes, and promotes a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The supervisor oversees daily production activities, including staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation; monitors performance and addresses bottlenecks; and partners with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and other departments to resolve operational challenges. The role also supports employee development and people-management activities, maintains quality and compliance, and tracks production metrics. Some travel may be required, and the role may require additional hours, evenings, or weekends based on business needs.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Business, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supervising production teams, managing daily operations, and meeting production schedules.
- Working knowledge of cGMP, ISO guidelines, and manufacturing quality standards.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 6S, and continuous improvement principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to troubleshoot production challenges, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong coaching, team-building, and employee development skills.
- Experience monitoring production performance, managing resources, and supporting cost and budget objectives.
- Hands-on leadership style and ability to work directly with teams to resolve operational issues.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, manage multiple priorities, and complete assignments within established deadlines.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- SAP experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee Team Leads and production associates to meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer demands.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA requirements.
- Manage daily production activities, including staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
- Monitor production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Coach, train, and develop employees; provide performance feedback and support professional growth.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing, 6S, and process optimization techniques.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, ISO, the Quality Management System (QMS), and manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain product quality by ensuring employees follow work instructions and production standards.
- Lead or participate in safety investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action plans.
- Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and other departments to resolve production challenges and improve operational performance.
- Track and report productivity, quality, efficiency, and operational performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and waste and improve processes and workflow.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, employee relations, and performance management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.
- Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and continuous improvement practices.
- Demonstrate ethical leadership, accountability, and effective employee development.
