About The Position

Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking an energetic, hands-on Production Supervisor (2nd shift 2:00pm - 10:00pm) to lead manufacturing operations and inspire a high-performing team in a fast-paced production environment. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who thrives on developing people, solving problems, improving processes, and ensuring operational excellence. As a Production Supervisor, you will oversee daily production activities, champion safety and quality standards, and ensure efficient utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials. You will play a critical role in supporting customer expectations while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and employee development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with manufacturing systems and operational reporting tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • A U.S. Citizen; or
  • A Permanent Resident Alien of the United States; or
  • A Protected Individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) and 22 CFR 120.15.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Advanced manufacturing training or certification.
  • Equivalent combination of manufacturing leadership experience and education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership, coaching, and support to production employees.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and engaged work environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews, employee development discussions, and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Promote employee training and cross-training to build workforce flexibility and capability.
  • Serve as a role model for company values, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to achieve production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Monitor productivity, staffing, and workflow to maximize efficiency and performance.
  • Coordinate labor resources to meet changing production demands.
  • Partner with Production Control, Customer Service, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to resolve operational challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow supervisors to optimize plant performance and resource allocation.
  • Create and maintain a culture where safety is the top priority.
  • Conduct regular observations, coaching, and corrective actions to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Ensure all products meet established quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Support material disposition and quality investigations through the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
  • Verify completion of required inspections, testing, and process controls.
  • Lead and support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Encourage employee involvement in problem-solving and process improvement activities.
  • Utilize data and performance metrics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Maintain production records, staffing reports, labor balancing documentation, and overtime tracking.
  • Manage departmental resources within budget expectations.
  • Coordinate staffing coverage for vacations, absences, and unexpected business needs.
  • Support plant objectives and special projects as assigned.
