The Production Supervisor will directly supervise manufacturing operations on 2nd Shift, supporting corporate net sales objectives by meeting production plans, schedule attainment, productivity goals, and maintaining quality, a safe work environment, and positive employee relations.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant leadership experience required (for Production Supervisor I).
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in a supervisory leadership role required (for Production Supervisor II).
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree in supply chain, operations management, engineering, business administration, management, or a related field of study or equivalent years of job experience required.
  • Excel experience in pivot tables and VLOOKUP preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 Year / Bachelor Degree in supply chain, operations management, engineering, business administration, management, or a related field of study preferred.
  • Continuous Improvement training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of hourly production team members, setting performance expectations, ensuring team has necessary equipment and training, monitoring work performance, and issuing corrective actions.
  • Execute the daily production plan for the area of responsibility, monitor daily variance to plan, and recommend capacity adjustments.
  • Promote collaborative effort, team member engagement, autonomy, and partnership decision-making aligned with employer of choice initiatives.
  • Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly communications to team members.
  • Collaborate with engineering on troubleshooting shop floor challenges, special design requested orders, and provide new product support.
  • Conduct interviews and ensure successful onboarding and training plans.
  • Achieve productivity goals and make necessary staffing adjustments to maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinate activities among various internal departments affecting the production process (scheduling, engineering, production management, shipping, inventory control, sales, purchasing).
  • Maintain work areas to meet or exceed company 5S and safety standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to enhance key performance indicators, improve safety culture, and advance team member relations.
  • Participate and assist in activities relating to the 5S and Safety Teams.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel on the upkeep and repair of tools and machinery.
  • Work with Material Specialist to ensure inventory is properly managed and accurate, providing guidance on stocking requirements, cycle counting, and timely receipt of inventory.
  • Develop cross-training plans and encourage continued development of team members.
  • Perform monthly safety training, ensure team members follow safety guidelines, and maintain safety records.
  • Utilize ERP, attendance, and other Greenheck systems to support labor and manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare and conduct performance reviews.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of current labor agreement (where applicable) and applicable government regulations.
