Directly lead employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Employee Morale, and Environmental performance objectives. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university OR Associates and 2+ years related experience OR 4+ years related experience required.

Technical/mechanical understanding of bus systems.

Responsibilities

Promote a safety culture while maintaining adherence to all safety policies and standards.
Proactively identify potential safety hazards in the work area and mitigate the risk of injuries.
Oversee area safety and environmental training and other requirements and ensure completion.
Perform accident investigations.
Promote, support and coach team on maintaining a clean work area using the 5S methodology.
Drive positive results in key metrics SQDCME (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Employee Morale and Environmental).
Continuously improve metrics by leading and coaching teams in practical problem-solving activities related to top SQDCME issues.
Oversee daily production requirements and ensure targets are met.
Plan and coordinate contingency and recovery plans for downtime and equipment failures.
Partner with Maintenance on preventative measures to support equipment wellness.
Continuously improve constraints and bottleneck processes.
Plan and allocate resources to support the daily requirements within area(s) of responsibility.
Support cross training plans to increase team flexibility.
Manage time and attendance of direct reports.
Conduct regular one on one meetings with Team Leaders and conduct annual performance evaluations.
Interface with Labor Relations and the local Union Shop Committee as needed.
Foster healthy employee relations.
Understand Lean concepts and support implementation of initiatives.
