About The Position

The Production Shift Lead leads the day-to-day activities of the hourly third-shift manufacturing production team in Duncansville. The role works to ensure safe operations, quality products, and fulfillment of customer requirements. The lead coordinates production against daily schedules and applicable standards, responds to production problems, communicates information to the team, and maintains attendance and production records.

Requirements

• Secondary education in a technical or business field, or practical manufacturing management experience.
• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to coach, develop, and engage team members.
• Experience with and/or knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Respectful approach to people and ability to provide positive and developmental feedback.
• Appropriate knowledge of manufacturing shipping and receiving processes.
• Ability to operate different types of powered industrial trucks, or willingness to be trained.
• First responder certification, with training in basic first aid and CPR/AED.
• Basic technical knowledge of New Pig products and processes.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with shop-floor management software on PC-based platforms, such as Factory Tracker, Flow, Syteline, or Trend.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day activities of the third-shift manufacturing production team in Duncansville as a working leader.
• Ensure production meets internal and external customer demand while following standards for EHS, People Contribution, Quality, Delivery, Production Control, and Equipment Efficiency.
• Lead the team in meeting daily production schedules and ensure products are made according to standard work and quality requirements.
• React quickly to and resolve problems encountered during production.
• Lead weekly shift meetings and other information-sharing activities as needed.
• Keep records of employee attendance and hours worked.
• Update daily production reports and status updates.
• Adhere to New Pig’s Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
