The Seat Assembly Operator is responsible for participating as a Team Member in the manufacturing of quality products with minimal cost for scrap and re-work and with minimal delay by the use of inspection, knowledge of the product and processes, and sound judgment. This role involves completing the assembly of automotive seating units while maintaining good housekeeping, safety, quality, and efficiency standards. The operator will perform line assembly and support operations to mass produce automotive seating units according to specifications, building parts in a specified manner according to Operator Description Sheets. The position requires developing proficiency in all production job functions and rotating through various workstations within a job cell. Responsibilities also include controlling nonconforming products until corrected, restocking work areas, monitoring production material quantities, and reporting shortages. The role involves physical tasks such as lifting and carrying components, walking, standing, reaching, bending, pulling, and pushing to move product through the build process. Additionally, the operator will use hand-held pneumatic tools, torque guns, ergonomic arms, and other equipment, and perform quality inspections of work in progress.
