About The Position

The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed, executable production schedules that align with customer demand, material availability, and capacity constraints. This role translates demand into shop floor priorities, ensures schedule adherence, and proactively identifies risks to delivery. The Scheduler works closely with Operations, Customer Service, and Purchasing to ensure feasible, stable, and data-driven scheduling decisions.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years experience in production scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of MRP systems and scheduling logic
  • Experience managing capacity constraints and shop floor priorities
  • ERP/MRP experience required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing
  • Exposure to high-mix / low-volume environments
  • Strong Excel and data analysis capability

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules
  • Sequence and prioritize work orders based on commit dates, capacity constraints, and material readiness
  • Balance load across work centers to ensure feasible execution
  • Release and communicate schedules to Operations
  • Review open order backlog daily
  • Identify past-due and at-risk orders
  • Prioritize backlog based on customer impact and feasibility
  • Maintain accurate order and schedule status in ERP
  • Execute and interpret MRP outputs and exception messages
  • Analyze material shortages, reschedule signals, and demand/supply misalignment
  • Take action to align system signals with actual execution conditions
  • Identify capacity and material constraints impacting schedules
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Operations to resolve issues
  • Adjust schedules based on real-time constraints
  • Track schedule adherence (planned vs actual)
  • Identify schedule misses and root causes
  • Support recovery planning for delayed orders
  • Reduce expedite activity through improved scheduling discipline
  • Validate lead times, planning parameters, and order policies
  • Identify and correct data issues impacting MRP and scheduling
  • Ensure alignment between system data and shop floor execution
