About The Position

Responsible for manually planning and scheduling production capacity within the ERP system to generate accurate shop orders that meet customer demand. Collaborates cross‑functionally across multiple departments to identify constraints, escalate issues, and coordinate effective solutions. Initiates and issues purchase orders for outside production‑related services as required. Monitors, reports, and escalates inventory needs necessary to align with customer demand. Supports the creation, maintenance, and distribution of daily operational reports to ensure visibility and alignment across the organization.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel, with intermediate Excel capabilities.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related operational planning role.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP business systems and MRP experience, preferred
  • APICS and/or CPIM certified, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment through effective communication with team members, customers, and cross‑functional partners.

  • Review new customer orders daily to determine product availability, lead times, and committed delivery dates, verifying any special requirements for proper execution.
  • Manually schedule production orders by evaluating material availability and capacity to create production schedules aligned with customer demand and market lead-times.
  • Work closely with Sales to communicate order status, shortages, and constraints impacting delivery, maintaining ownership from order release through shipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production schedules to achieve on-time delivery requirements.
  • Ensure production schedules, shop orders and any other supporting manufacturing documentation are issued accurately and in advance to production.
  • Create purchase orders for outside operations and coordinate with suppliers to confirm capacity and meet required delivery dates.
  • Escalate inventory needs, report discrepancies, and coordinate with material handlers, receiving teams, and supervisors to resolve issues and adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Partner with Purchasing to expedite materials when required to support customer delivery commitments.
  • Manually reschedule shop orders based on inventory availability, customer requests, and/or capacity.
  • Coordinate phase‑in/phase‑out activities and ensures FIFO execution for Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to support accurate inventory consumption and smooth product transitions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
