About The Position

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for a Production Scheduler Advanced to join our team based in Kinston, NC. The Production Scheduler prepares feasible production schedule scenarios for assembly and in-house parts and associated materials for the weekly Master Production Schedule routines. Takes into account customer need dates, actual production schedule, production status, backlog, outstanding work and available capacity (manpower, machine, material) and any technical & quality topics to be consistent with the Master Production Schedule process. Checks MRP results on Planned Orders and Work Orders, and manages Work Order creation. Inputs: MPS planning, need dates, industrial capabilities (machines, tools, workshop facilities, maintenance plans and local objectives...), manpower, component availability and stock strategy, manufacturing engineering input and quality input. Outputs: Weekly Production Schedule, dashboards (workload/manpower balance, Work in Progress analysis, planning adherence, KPIs and associated documentation), work order creation.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management / Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Chain and/or Industrial Management
  • Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with MRP II principles (especially S&OP, MPS, MRP, and Execution) and a good understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain concepts within a production environment
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional and multi-site networks, with strong communication skills
  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visit, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
  • Only applicants with current work authorization will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and animating weekly short-term operational routines.
  • Analyzing current production status and controlling resource capacity—including manpower (operators and office staff), machinery, and materials.
  • Preparing and leading the Weekly Master Production (MPS) meetings, challenging stakeholders to ensure firm commitments and prevent constant planning postponements.
  • Elaborating detailed Production Schedules and designing recovery plans when deviations occur.
  • Assessing impacts on capacity requirements (workforce, strategic tooling, and jigs), delivery dates, and production buffers.
  • Validating and officializing the short-term planning impacts on the Industrial System (5M) and ensuring that all production partners are aligned with the validated schedule.
  • Implementing decided schedules into the production system.
  • Converting and releasing work orders based on MPS decisions.
  • Checking MRP parameters, results, and messages.
  • Updating the official IT planning tools alongside dedicated stakeholders.
  • Building and analyzing KPIs to measure execution and delivery performance, then defining subsequent improvement plans and corrective actions.
  • Promote a customer-focused mindset within the plant organization.
  • Collaborate closely with all site functions (Program, Manufacturing engineering, materials logistics, quality, and production teams) to implement strategy changes effectively.
  • Synthesize complex planning scenarios and present clear, concise updates to multiple levels of management.
