About The Position

The Production Sanitation Utility works as part of a team to support safe production of quality Sargento products. The role involves reading production orders, communicating accurately, supporting food safety and quality standards, helping set up and place production equipment, and working alongside automated equipment. As needed, the employee uses cleaning chemicals to sanitize equipment and production areas. This position is for a high school senior and is scheduled for 16–24 hours per week on second shift, 2:30 p.m.–10:30 p.m. on either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, with every other Saturday as needed. The refrigerated production facility is cold, and the environment may be loud due to machinery, moving parts, and robotics. Sanitation work may involve wet, humid, or damp conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Requirements

Must be a high school senior.
Must be 18 years or older.
Be punctual, self-starting, dependable, and willing to take direction.
Work professionally both independently and as part of a team.
Have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn new skills.
Be willing to complete forklift certification upon hire.
Be able to learn and carry out lockout/tagout procedures as required.
Be able to lift 50 pounds.
Be able to work in a cold environment.

Responsibilities

Work safely as part of a team to produce quality Sargento products.
Read and understand production orders to verify information is correct.
Communicate effectively and accurately.
Help ensure food safety and quality standards are met.
Assist with setup and placement of production equipment.
Work alongside automated production equipment.
As necessary, use cleaning chemicals to sanitize and clean equipment and production areas.
Perform data entry for inventory systems and labeling software.
