About The Position

A Production Proofreader 1 is responsible for finding errors in Abeka, Joyful Life, Abeka Academy, and Abeka Collegiate Division documents. The Proofreader is responsible to proof new copies and corrected copies, as well as reprint corrections. The ideal candidate must be a born-again Christian dedicated to training young people for serving God, and must desire to educate students based on biblical values and be committed to excellence as a Christian educator who glorifies Christ as the source of all wisdom and knowledge. Our ministry began in 1954 when Pensacola Christian Academy opened with just 35 students. Since then, the Lord has blessed us in many ways. Responsibilities

• Make sure that grammar and spelling are accurate in all jobs, that all assignments have been proofed, and that the layout accurately meets all design specifications.
• Verify that changes were made according to the Abeka Style Manual, even if the changes were not marked.
• Proof each new copy to ensure that it is correct.
• Compare the copy to the manuscript to ensure completion.
• Proof corrections that were made after the initial full proofing of new copy.
• Verify that corrections were made accurately.
• Proof reprint corrections to ensure that corrections were made as requested.
• Verify that all pages affected by corrections were updated as needed.
