About The Position

Ashland Specialty Ingredients, GP has an opportunity for a Chemical Operator in its Specialty Ingredients G.P. business in Wilmington, Delaware. The position reports to the Plant Manager and supports manufacturing operations in a GMP production environment. The operator receives and stages materials, prepares and operates manufacturing equipment, completes SAP transactions and GMP documentation, packages finished products, and maintains housekeeping and compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures. This is a rotating-shift position; holidays and overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, and overtime as required.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to lift 55 pounds regularly.
• High level of mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to clearly record observations in writing.
• Ability to follow and complete written directions.
• Ability to work around strong magnets.

Nice To Haves

• GMP or chemical manufacturing experience.
• Forklift experience.
• General computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures and guidelines.
• Receive materials into the limited access warehouse (LAW) according to applicable procedures.
• Prepare for production, including staging and weighing raw materials.
• Perform manufacturing duties according to associated work instructions, including equipment setup, operation, and cleaning.
• Complete necessary SAP transactions.
• Package finished products and prepare shipments.
• Complete GMP documentation.
• Perform general housekeeping in the GMP production area.
