About The Position

The Production Operator works in multiple positions at Saputo’s Black Creek cheese plant, providing break and vacation coverage in equipment operations, warehousing, sanitation, and the intake and starter areas. The role supports cheese-making operations by operating and monitoring equipment, including pasteurizers and cheese-making equipment (HCV, EFV, Towers, and Boxer). The position’s stated hours are 6am–6pm.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of manufacturing production experience, preferably in food or dairy manufacturing.
• Initiative and strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Safe and quality-conscious work habits.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to help ensure machines operate correctly.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor equipment that supports cheese-making operations, including pasteurizers and cheese-making equipment (HCV, EFV, Towers, and Boxer).
• Support warehouse operations by moving products and packages using a forklift.
• Maintain sanitation procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Visually inspect products as they are received, processed, and packaged for defects or issues.
• Record and interpret data to inform decisions that optimize cheese-making operations and storage.
• Communicate with other Operators, leaders, and departments to help ensure smooth operations.
