About The Position

The Production Operator works in multiple positions at Saputo’s Black Creek cheese plant, providing break and vacation coverage across equipment operations, warehousing, sanitation, and the intake and starter areas. The role operates and monitors equipment supporting cheese-making operations, supports warehouse activities, follows sanitation procedures and standard operating procedures, inspects products, records and interprets operational data, and communicates with coworkers and other departments to help ensure smooth operations. The stated hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of manufacturing production experience; food or dairy manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Demonstrate initiative and strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrate safe and quality-conscious work habits.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to ensure machines are operating correctly.

• Food or dairy manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor equipment supporting cheese-making operations, including pasteurizers and cheese-making equipment (HCV, EFV, Towers, and Boxer).
• Support warehouse operations by moving product and packages via forklift.
• Maintain sanitation procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Visually inspect product as it is received, processed, and packaged for defects or issues.
• Record and interpret data to inform decisions that optimize cheese-making operations and storage.
• Communicate with other Operators, leaders, and departments as needed to ensure operations run smoothly.
