About The Position

Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions is hiring a full-time Production Operator at its Garden City facility. The role sets up, operates, or tends machines that mix or blend materials to produce finished products. The operator follows production sheets for product recipes and records accurate quantities, production times, batch information, and test data. The position also involves handling raw materials and finished products, performing quality-control tasks as directed, and following proper safety procedures when handling hazardous materials. Employees are expected to support Ergon’s culture, safety practices, and core values and to work cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and associates.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Time-management skills to report to work on time and meet deadlines.
Commitment to a team environment and personal initiative.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic mathematics skills.
Pass a pre-employment assessment test.
Ability to become fork truck certified.
Ability to complete all required training for the position.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency with computers and computer software, including Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

Unload bulk raw materials and load finished products from trucks to storage, when needed.
Transfer raw materials between tanks and from tanks to mixers.
Set up, operate, and tend equipment used to mix, blend, or process ingredients into finished products.
Verify and stage raw materials and packaging materials needed for production.
Select, measure, or weigh ingredients specified for finished products.
Collect product samples and perform quality-control testing when directed.
Keep the work area clean and promote safe work habits.
Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, and associates, and work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
Record production and test data for each batch on required forms.
Handle hazardous materials within proper safety parameters.
Perform other duties as required.
