About The Position

The Lead Production Operator oversees the timely and efficient flow of raw materials into high-quality finished products. The role also helps ensure that equipment used to process raw and finished materials is maintained and kept in good repair.

The position leads continuous improvement efforts, supports achievement of individual and department targets, and promotes safety by following company rules, participating in safety meetings, and assisting with accident investigations. The role coordinates with Maintenance to address equipment breakdowns and repairs, and may perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1–2 years of prior experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
• 2–3 years of prior work experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

• Technical school certificate or associate degree.
• Labor relations background and experience with leadership and training.
• Good understanding of production maintenance and repair protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the efficient and timely flow of raw materials received and finished products shipped.
• Oversee equipment used to process raw and finished materials and ensure it is kept in good working order.
• Manage equipment breakdowns and coordinate with Maintenance to ensure needed repairs are made promptly.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in areas of responsibility.
• Achieve individual and department targets, goals, and objectives.
• Observe company safety rules and regulations and recognize safety as a company priority.
• Conduct or participate in regularly scheduled safety meetings with plant staff.
• Assist in investigating accidents within the role’s jurisdiction and make recommendations to the Plant Safety Committee.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
