About The Position

Darigold is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Operator to join its Portland, Oregon plant as a member of the Operations team. The role contributes to plant success by safely and efficiently operating an assigned machine, maintaining an organized work area, completing cleaning tasks, and meeting operating-area efficiency standards. The position is responsible for following Food Safety and Quality requirements in accordance with company policy, standard operating procedures, and facility training, and for reporting concerns that could affect food safety or quality to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, committed to high-quality work, able to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working both as part of a team and independently in a union environment. Darigold plants operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so availability for multiple shifts, weekends, and holidays is required. This is a full-time hourly union position. Specific contract terms vary by location.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Ability to complete multiple repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
• Availability to work multiple shifts in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

• Food-processing experience is preferred.
• Mechanical skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate an assigned machine.
• Maintain an organized work area and perform ongoing cleaning in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Maintain the efficiency standards established for the operating area.
• Follow Food Safety and Quality requirements in company policy, applicable Standard Operating Procedures, and facility training.
• Report concerns that may affect Food Safety or Quality to the immediate supervisor, Plant Quality Manager, or Plant Manager.
