About The Position

The Production Operator assembles and prepares a variety of plumbing parts and components for shipment and operates and services production machines in an Assemble-to-Order work environment. The role includes assembling, packing, and sometimes supplying parts to a line or feeder process. Operators may move between workstations and jobs throughout the workday, cross-train within their home department and other departments, and transport materials through the plant as needed. They record production information, support product repair and salvage, and maintain responsibility for the quality and quantity of their work and for keeping their work area neat, orderly, and safe.

Responsibilities

Operate and service a variety of production machines in an Assemble-to-Order work environment.
Assemble and pack standard parts and, when needed, supply parts to a line or feeder process.
Flex to other workstations and perform all jobs on the Assemble-to-Order line as required.
Transport materials through the plant as needed.
Cross-train on other jobs in the home department and other departments as needed.
Record product counts, scrap, time, and other production information.
Disassemble, sort, repair, and salvage products.
Maintain responsibility for the quality and quantity of work produced.
Keep the work area neat, orderly, and safe.
Operate label printers and perform minor troubleshooting.
Complete shipping papers when required to process complete assemblies.
Identify and implement improvement ideas in the work area.
Rotate among multiple jobs throughout the workday.
Work as part of a team and use time efficiently.
