About The Position

The Production Operator assembles and prepares plumbing parts and components for shipment and operates and services production machines in an Assemble-to-Order work environment. The role involves moving among workstations and jobs on the Assemble-to-Order line, cross-training within the home department and other departments, and occasionally transporting materials through the plant. The operator records production information, performs product disassembly and repair tasks, supports labeling and shipping paperwork as needed, and is accountable for the quality and quantity of work, a safe and orderly work area, and efficient teamwork.

Responsibilities

Operate and service a variety of production machines in an Assemble-to-Order work environment.
Assemble and pack standard parts and, when needed, supply parts to a line or feeder process.
Move to other workstations as required and flex to all jobs on the Assemble-to-Order line.
Occasionally transport materials through the plant.
Cross-train on other jobs in the home department and other departments as needed.
Record product counts, scrap, time, and other production information.
Disassemble, sort, repair, and salvage products.
Be responsible for the quality and quantity of work produced.
Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work area.
Operate label printers and perform minor troubleshooting.
Complete shipping papers when required to process complete assemblies.
Identify and implement improvement ideas in the work area.
Rotate among multiple jobs throughout the workday.
Work as part of a team and use time efficiently.
