The Production Operator I (Material Stocker) stores, issues, and moves materials and products throughout the plant. The role involves frequent lifting of boxes weighing 3–45 pounds from pallets positioned 6 inches off the floor to chest level and/or from VGVs. The operator maintains and verifies inventory and materials, supplies parts to production lines, transports materials, and operates material-handling equipment. The role may also involve disassembling, sorting, repairing, and salvaging products. Accuracy of inventory records and quality and quantity of work are essential. The operator keeps the work area neat, orderly, and safe, assists in training associates, and flexes into a production line as needed. The operator may plan and organize the daily line schedule, including leading a cell when the team leader is absent, and is responsible for identifying and implementing improvement ideas in the work area. Applicants must meet the stated associate eligibility conditions, including limits on recent job awards and disciplinary warnings, a minimum UTO balance, and the ability to work at least 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. Selected associates receive training in the position’s processes and computer requirements, and all job postings have a 90-day probationary period. Applications are submitted through SmartRecruiters before the posting deadline. Temporary associates may participate in bidding, but cannot be selected until the decision is made not to select a Moen candidate. Material Stocker bids are not cell-specific; Production Managers assign associates according to production requirements.
