About The Position

The Production Operator assembles plumbing parts and components and prepares them for shipment in an Assemble-to-Order work environment. The role operates and services production machines, assembles and packs standard parts, and may supply parts to a line or feeder process. The operator may move between workstations and jobs throughout the day, cross-train within the home department and other departments, and occasionally transport materials through the plant. The role also records production information, handles product disassembly and salvage, supports quality and safety, operates a label printer, and may complete shipping paperwork. Operators work as part of a team and are expected to use their time efficiently and identify improvement ideas in their work area.

Responsibilities

• Operate and service a variety of production machines in an Assemble-to-Order work environment.
• Assemble and pack standard parts and, as needed, supply parts to a line or feeder process.
• Flex to other workstations and jobs on the Assemble-to-Order line, rotating among multiple jobs during the workday.
• Cross-train on other jobs in the home department and other departments as needed.
• Transport materials through the plant occasionally as needed.
• Record product counts, scrap, time, and other required information.
• Disassemble, sort, repair, and salvage products.
• Take responsibility for the quality and quantity of work produced.
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work area.
• Operate the label printer and perform minor troubleshooting.
• Complete shipping papers when required to process complete assemblies.
• Identify and implement improvement ideas in the work area.
• Work as part of a team and use time efficiently.
