About The Position

Copeland has an exciting opportunity for a Production/Manufacturing Manager at our Natchitoches, LA location. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of second shift operations, driving efficient production processes, and upholding high-quality standards. The manager will lead a team of two salaried supervisors and approximately 50-60 hourly employees. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will spearhead initiatives to optimize productivity, enhance operational performance, and foster a culture of collaboration and safety.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent minimally required.
Eight (8) years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a large, high-volume manufacturing setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of successfully leading teams and driving operational excellence.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing production challenges.
Strong orientation for continuous improvement.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate well cross-functionally and work well at all levels of the organization.
Resourceful, proactive, high energy, results driven.
Ability to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and familiarity with manufacturing software and reporting tools.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Three (3) years of experience as a Shift Manager in a large, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Experience with lean manufacturing or similar continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors and hourly employees, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards and operational efficiency.
Monitor production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to optimize workflow.
Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to troubleshoot production issues and ensure minimal downtime.
Lead shift meetings to communicate production goals, safety protocols, and updates to the team.
Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safety awareness among all team members.
Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure all procedures, reporting, and policies are followed and has authority to directly address or correct any non-conformance.
Completes or ensures proper paperwork, record-keeping, data entry.
