About The Position

The Shift Supervisor oversees plant operations and departmental team members during the assigned shift. The role emphasizes quality control, productivity, and keeping Packers and Operators on task. As a hands-on leader, the Shift Supervisor supports production while guiding and developing the hourly team.

Requirements

Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of production operations and workflow management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry systems such as SAP or similar ERP systems.
Leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
Ability to lift 25–50 lbs as needed.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts; dependability, a positive attitude, and trainability.

Nice To Haves

Prior supervisory experience managing 15–20 direct reports is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform supervisory functions to support production output and maintain workflow according to schedule.
Monitor Packers’ productivity, assign duties, and adjust staffing as needed.
Coordinate employee break schedules to maintain continuous production flow.
Use Operators to troubleshoot and resolve processing issues and minimize downtime.
Conduct routine quality checks on active production lines and accurately document results.
Perform the First Part Approval Process at the start of each shift, including product review and required photo documentation submitted to management.
Communicate production, staffing, and quality issues to the Department Production Manager in a timely manner.
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Lead by example as a hands-on contributor on the production floor.
Guide and develop the hourly team.
