About The Position

The Production Manager at Phoenix Products is responsible for organizing, coordinating, planning, and scheduling all production activities within the Manufacturing Department. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing processes, characteristics, and applications of fuel storage systems, generator protective buildings, and cabinets, as well as related accessories and supplies. The manager will analyze and plan work schedules based on build plans and customer orders, establish job assignments to maximize productivity and meet monthly shipping targets, and analyze job orders to create efficient schedules. Responsibilities also include managing shop equipment, tools, materials, and raw materials, assisting with customer issues and developing corrective actions, reacting to change orders, establishing labor hours, and overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of buildings and equipment. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and tracking material costs, establishing quality standards with the Plant Coordinator, managing the stockroom, and setting monthly targets with the Production Coordinator and Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Manufacturing and Manufacturing management.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and Autocad programs.
  • Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to understand all aspects of aboveground storage system products and services.
  • Must have ability to re-schedule production due to current sales demands.
  • Business or Engineering degree from a four year college or university; or 5 to 10 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, coordinate, plan and schedule all related production activities in the Manufacturing Department.
  • Learn all aspects of the manufacturing of fuel storage systems and generator protective buildings and cabinets, characteristics, and application, as well as related accessories and supplies.
  • Analyze and plan the work schedule according to the build plan and customer’s orders.
  • Establish job assignments based on the personnel’s expertise and experience that will produce high levels of productivity and at the same time attaining monthly shipping targets.
  • Analyze all job orders required in the plant facilities and establish schedules for each job order, which will produce the most efficient and productive results.
  • Be responsible for all shop equipment, tools, materials and raw materials used in the Manufacturing department.
  • Assist with all customer problems and develop corrective actions for each issue.
  • React immediately to “change orders” and communicate the changes to production personnel.
  • Establish labor hours for each project and update processes change.
  • Upkeep and maintenance on all buildings and equipment.
  • Review and track material costs and record for each product line.
  • Establish and generate with the Plant Coordinator, quality standards for all products being manufactured.
  • Responsible for the “Stockroom” and the supervision of all materials and tools within.
  • Establishes monthly targets with the Production Coordinator and Plant Manager.
