The PSI Group in Connellsville, PA, is seeking a Production Management Trainee for its first shift. This role is designed to prepare individuals for leadership positions in production management by providing hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, production planning, process optimization, safety, and quality control. The trainee will rotate through key departments, assist in developing production schedules, support process improvement initiatives, analyze production data, and learn to manage teams and maintain safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position involves supervising machine operations, planning production schedules, and managing teams of machine operators.

Requirements

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Admin, or a related field
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to manage and develop a team of skilled machine operators and assistant machine operators.
• Excellent communication skills for working with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated commitment to customer focus, providing exceptional customer service.
• Familiarity with manufacturing concepts such as Lean, Kaizen, or 5S/6S
• Working knowledge of OSHA and MOSH safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage several different projects simultaneously.
• Experience with evaluating subordinate performance and provide feedback to enhance work performance.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, WMS, or order management systems for data tracking and reporting.
• Willingness to make a commitment of time and effort to become part of a team producing quality specialized packaging in a safe, drug free environment.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through key production departments to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and workflow management.
• Assist in developing and monitoring production schedules to meet delivery deadlines without compromising quality.
• Support process improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects to reduce downtime and increase throughput.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
• Participate in daily production meetings.
• Learn to manage teams, allocate resources, and maintain safety standards on the production floor.
• Supervise machine operations and plan the production schedule for multiple machine centers.
• Supervise a team of machine operators and assistant machine operators.
