About The Position

Wasatch Labs is seeking a Production Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our filling and packaging equipment through cleaning, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or related field
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to follow SOPs and work in a GMP-regulated environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of GMP principles and sanitation standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to organize, maintenance operations and activities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members at work.
  • Requires standing, walking, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and repetitive motion
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cosmetics, personal care, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning, disassembly, and reassembly of filling and packaging equipment.
  • Execute sanitation of equipment and production lines in compliance with GMP standards.
  • Ensure all cleaning activities are documented per SOP requirements.
  • Set up and adjust packaging equipment, including: Coding devices, Heat tunnels, L-sealers, Steam tunnels, Induction sealers.
  • Set up and support filling equipment, including: Tube fillers, Rotary fillers, Positive displacement (PD) fillers, Hot fill systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues; escalate complex repairs as needed.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Transfer bulk product into designated holding containers following SOPs.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and in compliance with company policy.
  • Assist with line changeovers and startup activities.
  • Follow all GMP, safety, and company policies.
  • Accurately complete required documentation (logs, checklists, batch records).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
