About The Position

In the production plant, the Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of industrial maintenance. The production environment is operational 24/7, so the technician is responsible to maintain, repair, disassemble, and troubleshoot complex equipment in charge of production processes. There is high-speed automated production machinery and other manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent degree/certificate.
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience.
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Experience working with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems.
  • Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning), Plumbing, Welding, Fabrication, docks and doors, security systems.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as directed by the business.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade School certified preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, production operators, and industrial technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to production lines by troubleshooting failures and other issues and making necessary repairs to production and facility equipment to maximize efficiencies.
  • Operate with technical skill the SAP Computerized Maintenance Management system to track inventory, complete all assigned work orders, preventative maintenance tasks, and maintain production line operational excellence.
  • Participate in rebuilds and overhauls on production line and support equipment.
  • Assist with parts management by ensuring parts are checked out of stock and communicating any deficiencies to the Parts Planner.
  • Provide consistent communication with fellow maintenance staff through End of Shift reports.
  • Support the IWS (Integrated Work Systems) process by participating in established routines with production operators and following up on top causes of downtime.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and environmental policies, practices, and programs and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Install new equipment as necessary and provide technical expertise to train and support production with a continued desire for lean supply chain process initiatives and improvement.
  • Quality reviews of equipment assigned to maintain safety and performance standards.
