About The Position

Lampe & Malphrus Lumber is seeking a dependable and motivated Production Machine Operator for a hands-on role in a fast-paced lumber manufacturing environment. The operator supports production by operating equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining workflow, meeting product specifications, and keeping equipment and work areas organized. The role calls for attention to detail, willingness to learn, reliable teamwork, and consistent adherence to established procedures.

Requirements

• Able to learn and operate production equipment and follow instructions and procedures.
• Demonstrates attention to detail, basic mechanical aptitude, and a team-oriented approach.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods and perform frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and repetitive movements.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in varying seasonal conditions.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and work hard, and ability to contribute to the team.
• Able to understand instructions, follow procedures, and complete assigned tasks consistently.
• Works efficiently and stays productive throughout the shift.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, production, machine operation, or a related field; equivalent on-the-job training may be considered.
• Lumber, industrial, manufacturing, or safety experience is an asset.
• Bilingual communication skills are preferred to support coordination with coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery safely and efficiently in a lumber manufacturing setting.
• Inspect equipment before operation to confirm proper setup and alignment.
• Monitor products for quality and verify they meet established specifications and tolerances.
• Maintain workflow in assigned production areas and communicate operational issues to the team.
• Perform basic machine adjustments and routine maintenance within the scope of training.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout requirements when applicable.
• Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist with other production-related tasks as needed.
