About The Position
Directs and coordinates the activities of line workers on assigned production line, ensuring that the line is operating in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves directing, leading, and monitoring production line staff to ensure product quality meets customer expectations and production specifications. The Production Line Lead communicates with operators regarding requirements and issues, oversees changeovers, manages label machine productivity, identifies and communicates operational concerns, and ensures product quality by checking for defects. They also complete production kits and paperwork, analyze and resolve production line issues, coordinate with forklift operators for material replenishment, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Additional responsibilities include overseeing employee breaks, making recommendations to stop production for quality or maintenance issues, ensuring material availability and quality, striving for continuous improvement, and attending daily production meetings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good leadership skills and ability to prioritize projects.
- Attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to understand, enforce and follow company policies and procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Good prior attendance and punctuality record.

Responsibilities
- Directs, leads and monitors production line staff to ensure the quality of product meets the expectation of the customer in accordance with work order and production kit specifications.
- Communicates constantly with Packaging Operators regarding work order requirements, operational issues, and productivity.
- Oversees all changeovers to ensure they are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensures the productivity of the label machine and changes out labels as needed.
- Identifies operational concerns and communicates with Production Supervisor and Maintenance Technicians.
- Continuously checks product to ensure specified requirements are met and that all damaged or defective products are pulled from the line.
- Completes production kits and required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Analyzes and resolves production line issues, or assists line workers in solving issues.
- Communicates with Forklift Operator regarding replenishment needs to ensure that product is delivered to production line in timely manner.
- Ensures a clean and safe work environment.
- Oversee assignments and coordinate breaks for all employees assigned to machine.
- Make recommendations to stop productions based on quality or maintenance issues.
- Ensures that required materials are available to meet production needs and that materials meet quality requirements.
- Strives for continuous improvements in production process.
- Attends daily production meetings.
