The Production Lead will oversee pre-operation and/or tear down depending on the shift. This role involves coordinating line set-up, reviewing production issues, production schedule orders, and product specifications. The Lead will collaborate with other departments to prevent downtime and is responsible for training and directing 12-40 employees. This position also leads continuous improvement plant-wide, assigns personnel to work stations, provides direction and training, and recommends corrective actions for non-compliance. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to communicate with supervisors and line workers, and responsibility for specification compliance. Additionally, the Lead is responsible for documentation and legible record keeping, including lot tracking, waste, quality checks, product usage, production, and standards. Basic math skills, data entry into computer programs, and attention to detail are necessary. The ability to read and interpret various production-related documents is essential. This position is expected to cross-train in all lead areas related to production and packaging and requires working safely at all times, with approximately 95% of the shift spent on the floor. A flexible schedule is required, along with other duties as assigned.
