The Production Lead will oversee pre-operation and/or tear down depending on the shift. This role involves coordinating line setup, reviewing production issues, production schedule orders, and product specifications. The Lead will work with other departments to prevent downtime and is responsible for training and directing 12-40 employees. This position leads continuous improvement plant-wide, assigns personnel to work stations, provides direction and training, and recommends corrective actions. The Lead must have excellent communication skills, be approachable, and be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and line workers. Responsibilities include ensuring specification compliance, maintaining legible documentation and record-keeping for the line (including lot tracking, waste, quality checks, product usage, production, and standards), and performing basic math skills. The role requires data entry into computer programs with attention to detail. The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production reports is essential. This position is expected to cross-train in all lead areas related to production and packaging. The employee must work safely at all times and will be on the floor 95% of their shift. A flexible schedule is required, and other duties may be assigned.
