About The Position

National Vision is a leading optical retail company with over 1,100 stores across the United States. We are expanding our optical manufacturing facility and have new openings for Production Lab Techs. We are seeking both entry-level and experienced individuals. This role is crucial in expediting job orders through the manufacturing process efficiently to serve our customers. Responsibilities include observing data on job orders, sorting and organizing them, and performing RF scanning, along with other department-specific tasks. We have production positions available in multiple departments, including Surface Tech, AR Tech, and Finish Tech.

No specific experience required for entry level
Prior mass production, machine operation, or assembly experience is preferred
Prior related or optical experience is desirable
Must be able to read and write English

Responsibilities

Observing data on job orders
Sorting and organizing job orders
RF scanning
Performing department-specific tasks
Backside coating: ensuring lens cleanliness, spraying, wiping, and loading into machines
Blocking and Deblocking, block preparation
Machine operation, taping, generating, polishing
Lens washing: removing lenses from blocks, rinsing, washing, and drying to remove debris
Sorting lenses, cleaning, and inspecting for imperfections
Cleaning dirty rings in an ultrasonic cleaner and rinsing
Sandblasting sectors and panels
Loading lenses into sectors and placing them in machines
Removing sectors, downloading lenses back to matching trays, and visually inspecting
Operating and cleaning AR coating machines
Sorting trays, edging, beveling
Tinting lenses to specified colors
Mounting lenses into frames, cleaning, and visually inspecting
Final inspection: checking lenses for defects, correct power, axis, prism, and compliance with ANSI standards
Shipping: scanning, bagging, sorting, and preparing customer orders for shipping
