About The Position

The Production Forklift Driver operates a forklift safely and responsibly to transport finished goods and raw materials, load and unload semi-trailers, and maintain accurate inventory information. The role uses fork and clamp attachments and required scanning equipment, and may involve completing or assisting with related paperwork and communications.

The driver helps maintain a safe, clean work environment by following safety rules and procedures, inspecting work areas for unsafe acts or conditions, and performing sweeping, cleaning, and sorting as needed. The position also involves lifting and carrying containers and packaging, communicating with supervisors, coordinators, and coworkers, assisting other departments, and carrying out other duties as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds continuously throughout the shift.
• Ability to perform continuous lifting, bending, reaching, and twisting.
• Obtain or be able to obtain a Forklift Driver’s License.
• Cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely and responsibly.
• Read and understand operational and safety rules and guidelines provided during forklift license training.
• Operate fork and clamp attachments.
• Transport finished goods and raw materials as directed.
• Load and unload semi-trailers and complete or assist with necessary paperwork and communications as directed.
• Use required scanning equipment.
• Maintain and update inventory status through scans, written records, or logs as necessary.
• Lift and carry containers and packaging, including pallets and shrink wrap, as needed.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, coordinators, and coworkers.
• Assist other departments as needed and perform other duties as directed.
• Evaluate and take appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
• Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts or conditions.
• Use verbal and written communications effectively.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Perform sweeping, cleaning, and sorting duties as necessary.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
• Perform all requirements of driving, including P&G.
