About The Position
Virginia Correctional Enterprises (VCE) is a manufacturing and service agency that provides meaningful jobs and develops valuable work skills for offenders, supporting successful reentry after release. VCE offers goods and services to customers across the Commonwealth. The Production Foreman supports and enhances production operations through knowledge of silkscreen and embroidery processes, effective planning and organization, quality management, and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members. The role assists and supports manufacturing operations to achieve quality products and ensure accurate, complete orders are delivered on time. New hires, transfers, and returning state employees hired by VCE will begin or restart a 12-month probationary period.
Requirements
- Knowledge of silkscreen and embroidered production.
- Demonstrated skill in planning and organizing, record-keeping, problem-solving, and quality management.
- Ability to develop, direct, correct, and motivate others.
- Ability to adapt to change, work independently, resolve problems, and perform effectively in complex work situations and under tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in continuous improvement practices and concepts.
- Experience with quality programs and production-floor quality improvement initiatives.
- Prior lead or supervisory experience.
- Prior purchasing experience.
