About The Position

Virginia Correctional Enterprises (VCE), a manufacturing and service agency, provides meaningful jobs and work-skill development for offenders while supplying goods and services to customers across Virginia. Commercial Drivers safely and promptly transport, deliver, and handle products in support of manufacturing and production goals. The role requires a CDL Class A license and includes loading and unloading products, checking order accuracy, and complying with Department of Transportation and other safety regulations. Drivers communicate professionally with customers, provide customer service, and work independently to meet deadlines. New hires, transfers, and returning state employees begin or restart a 12-month probationary period.

Requirements

• CDL Class A license.
• Considerable knowledge of loading and unloading, assembling, and setting up products.
• Work experience transporting and delivering items to clients or businesses safely and on time.
• Demonstrated ability to review orders before and after delivery for completeness and product accuracy.
• Experience applying driver safety standards to safeguard people, property, and financial assets, and ensuring commercial vehicles and equipment meet highway safety and government regulatory DOT requirements.
• Professional communication and demonstrated customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

• CDL Class A license with P endorsement.
