About The Position

The Production Floor Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations on the production floor, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production of plastic products. This role involves managing teams, optimizing processes, meeting production targets, and maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a plastic manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with processes such as injection molding, extrusion, or blow molding.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is required.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Good knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Familiarity with manufacturing principles
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Basic proficiency in production reporting tools and MS Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP or manufacturing systems
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards
  • Certification in health & safety or manufacturing (advantageous)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day production activities, including injection molding, extrusion, or blow molding processes.
  • Ensure production schedules are met in alignment with delivery timelines.
  • Monitor machine performance and production output, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Minimize downtime by coordinating with maintenance teams for quick resolution of equipment issues.
  • Manage, train, and supervise production staff, including machine operators and line supervisors.
  • Assign tasks and monitor workforce productivity and efficiency.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and development plans.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure products meet required quality standards and specifications.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Enforce adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Lead incident investigations and implement preventive measures.
  • Identify areas for process optimization to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Implement lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor KPIs such as yield, scrap rate, and cycle time.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and procurement teams to ensure availability of raw materials.
  • Monitor material usage and minimize waste.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of plastic resins and additives.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
  • Communicate production status, challenges, and improvements to senior management.
