Production Floor Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations on the production floor while actively participating in hands-on fabrication activities. This position combines frontline coordination, and real-time problem-solving. Production Floor Coordinator ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality production by driving execution of daily priorities, supporting operators and technicians, and responding tactically to issues on the floor to meet operational targets.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
  • Act as the point of contact on the manufacturing floor for shift execution and escalation support.
  • Provide real-time direction and decision-making to operators and technicians to maintain workflow continuity.
  • Monitor WIP, tool status, and staffing to ensure optimal line balance and throughput.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform fabrication processes (lithography, etch, metals, diffusion, implant, grind/polish, test, etc.) as needed to support production.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor specialized semiconductor equipment ensuring product quality and process compliance.
  • Step in during staffing gaps, high-volume periods, or critical operations to maintain output.
  • Serve as coach for technicians and operators on shift.
  • Train and mentor team members on processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Reinforce adherence to standard work, safety procedures, and cleanroom protocols.
  • Work with the Shift Supervisor to coordinate work-in-process (WIP) flow, ensuring efficient movement of materials to maximize throughput and operational output.
  • Drive execution of daily priorities aligned with KPIs (safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory).
  • Identify and resolve operational issues, escalating complex challenges as needed.
  • Contribute to process improvements, efficiency gains, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, data entry, and reporting of production metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems and all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including proper use of PPE and handling of chemicals.
